What’s New

Version 4.4.1

NASA is having some issues with VIIRS at the moment, so we included MODIS fires in the Nearest Fires feed on the top of the Home screen.

There are a few UI improvements for iPad devices, and we removed the GOES-17 satellite images due to stability issues.

Better than ever!

I’ve used this app for a few years. It provides a wealth of information in a very timely manner. That’s very much appreciated. There have been well documented problems with Inciweb itself from which this app pulls a significant amount of its information. When that happens this app can reflect that, at least in the past. Also (in 2023) this app was non functional for many months for unexplained reasons. The developer has a website, but there was no information about what was going on with this app there. That situation enabled this user to assume the worst and ultimately delete the app from all devices even though I’d been a “Pro subscriber.” About once a week or so I was checking back to see if the app had been updated since there is no better app out there. Today, Monday, August 21, 2023, I was relieved and very pleased to find the app updated and working as expected — which is extremely well. We have 3 significant fires in our area now which, depending on wind direction, can inundate us with dangerous (for us) levels of smoke. Having all the information available to us in such a timely manner is vital. Thank you developer(s) for updating. In the future please put any information about any difficulties you may be experiencing on your website so your users can know what’s going on. You have the website. Use it!

Amazing and up to date

Have had this app for over a month now and absolutely love it. This app has let me keep an eye on wildfires in Northern Nevada and all over California especially in Southern Cali where my sister lives. Yes there are ads but you can chose to open or close them in the free version. Since downloading this app I can count on 1 hand how many ads I have seen. Would recommend to anyone living in an area prone to outbreaks of wildfires.

Invasive ads with recent update

I’ve been using this app for a couple years and love it. I live in fire country and this app provides a needed service. I do not mind seeing ads in exchange for this service. But after a recent app update, I am now seeing invasive, full-screen ads that will not allow me to exit until they have completed the 5-second countdown. This is a serious problem and they need to update it to get rid of the invasive ads. When people are looking for vital safety information, they shouldn’t be forced to watch ads. Stick to the smaller ones that show up in the corners. I’m fine with those. Your users are here to view vital safety information. We are not playing a video game. Many people don’t have 5 seconds to waste while waiting for information about wildfires. I find this unsafe and disrespectful.
