On this International Paramedics Day, we thank those who make a difference every day. The theme this year is "The Difference We Make". Our colleague Ian Day, a paramedic of 42 years and currently working in the Oil and Gas sector, shares his thoughts: "Paramedicine is not a Monday to Friday job. We are called out at any time of the day or night, 7 days a week, and it does take dedication to be able to respond to someone in need 24/7. "I first became interested as a paramedic after coming across a traffic accident and not knowing what to do. This experience led me to undertaking a first aid course and then I moved on to be a paramedic. The one thing I love about this occupation is the challenges that I’m presented with every day and the rewards that those challenges bring. Even though I’ve been doing this job for a long time, I still wake up and enjoy going to work because there’s a great satisfaction in being able to help someone." #AspenMedical #IPD2024 #InternationalParamedicsDay #Paramedicine
