Mandatory training often comes with many challenges, one of these being low engagement. Staff may click through modules without appropriately absorbing and retaining the learning, which may reinforce negative views of mandatory training. Doing this over and over again can become a vicious cycle. So, how can we promote engagement with mandatory training? In our Guide to Mandatory Training, Zoe Youl highlights 8 strategies in depth, including explanations and impacts of the implementation of these strategies. Below is a snippet of 3 strategies you could readily use within your organisation! #MandatoryTraining #Education #Healthcare #Ausmed

What does success look like for your organisation? How can we measure this success? What are the best ways to present these measures? These are some of the questions you need to really think about when determining the correct metrics to track when working in healthcare education. In the final installment of the "Metrics that Matter" series, Kath Sharples highlights how traditional metrics like survey data don't capture the true impact of professional development. Instead, we must focus on metrics that link lifelong learning to quality care. #HealthcareEducation #ProfessionalDevelopment #QualityImprovement #WorkforceDevelopment #Ausmed

In many instances, when new standards or regulatory frameworks are introduced, requirements are listed that lack background, accompanying material, or guidance on implementation. These requirements are important but often leave providers without the necessary support to implement them. Action 2.9.5 is certainly one of those instances. Action 2.9.5 mandates that "providers regularly review and improve the effectiveness of their training systems". Zoe Youl breaks down and simplifies this requirement (including the use of a validated evaluation model) in the following content piece: https://lnkd.in/gekEZJ26

This week, we recognise and celebrate NAIDOC Week (7-14 July) 🖤💛❤️ — a chance for all Australians to learn more about the rich history and culture of First Nations people. We are taking this opportunity to reflect back on Gaby Bruning's presentation at Ausmed Elevate late last year on the paramount importance of cultural safety in the roles of all healthcare staff. Cultural safety is a crucial concept in healthcare, particularly so when caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. #NAIDOC2024 #NAIDOCWEEK

New episode of Outcomes has dropped! Will Egan is joined by Simon Kerrigan, Managing Director of Guide Healthcare. Simon advocates for a proactive approach to physiotherapy, focusing on preventative care to enhance strength, balance, and confidence. The conversation also tackles ageist stereotypes, promoting the view of older adults as motivated and capable. Simon shares insights on maintaining independence and involving older adults in enjoyable activities, such as Guide Heathcare's initiatives of implementing 'cross-site competitions' that take inspiration from real-world events (like the Olympics, Scottish Highland Games, and so forth) to garner engagement among older adults. 🎧 Listen to the new episode here: https://lnkd.in/gSkT5k-x
