And in one thing, I agree with those who hate it: if it were indeed something that everyone could get rich from quickly, then it is by definition "too good to be true" and resembles a bubble that will burst sooner or later. Fortunately, this has nothing to do with Bitcoin (and anyone who studies it would come to the same conclusion). Bitcoin is a new form of money. Due to the unique way it has come into existence, we are talking about a truly decentralized network with a very high degree of security. In other words, no one controls it, but also no one can easily seize it, break it, hack it, or stop it. This means that if you store "value" in it, it is safe from central authorities that constantly inflate everything everywhere. This means that if you store "value" in it, your time and energy are valued, and your purchasing power will most likely increase over time. This gives you the opportunity to "buy back time" and spend it on things you enjoy and/or are very good at (craftsmanship). As a result, you can become even better at what you do and provide even more value to society. Imagine what happens if you also save that in Bitcoin..? 🚨 MUST READ: WEF just dropped their Top 10 technologies for 2024, and guess what appeared at Number 2?... 🕛 Privacy-enhancing technologies! 🧠 Reading reports like this are essential, as it expands your worldview beyond maybe the 1 or 2 technologies that you'd typically get to focus on (in my case, Blockchain) 🎁 But imagine my surprise when the second domain on the list overlaps exactly with Midnight - the project I work for, and a critical champion for building better apps with zero-knowledge proofs. 🛡️'Privacy' is not about hiding from governments, or shady deals on the dark web. Privacy is about shielding sensitive personal or commercial data from others while collaborating or transacting on the internet. 🏗️ There are a multitude of new business models that Web3 can enable, where shared incentives, programmable data protection and autonomous apps can change the way data is used. 🚨PoV: The strength & calm required to work in Web3, when all around is in chaos (Sound: ON)… 😱 The German government are dumping Bitcoin! 😱 Polkadot are running out of treasury! 😱 The SEC is suing everyone! 😱 Starbucks is stopping its NFT pilot! 😱 Scammers are hacking wallets! Etc. etc. etc… 📊 Unfortunately, the Web3 generation has become too used to instant gratification through access to founders on discord, highly volatile markets, and the speed of innovation in the digital asset area. 🤦🏽♂️If devs didn’t ’do something’ today to benefit the community’s outlook, then all is doomed!… However. 🎁 Digital transformation of industries and markets takes time… 👾 For example, video games, an important and much cited area for Web3 innovation, typically take 1.5 - 2 years to build. So any ‘tokenised’ innovation based on today’s thinking probably won’t be in the hands of users until 2026! 😅 Remember not to sweat the noise outside. Some stocks drop as much as 20% in one day, and the industry doesn’t even blink. It doesn’t mean ‘it’s all over’ and it doesn’t mean ‘you’ve done your job’ either. 🥔 FWIW if you’re building, have a clear growth plan, trust in your differentiation, and make small wins every day.
