In April, one of our sites at Tallangatta celebrated five PALM workers who had their contracts extended. Since the five workers joined the business, the site has grown their team to an impressive 80 employees, thanks to their dedication and hard work. "The staff are absolutely wonderful, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.” We're proud to be supporting McLean Care Ltd with their staffing needs in aged care. Earlier this year we had a great chat with some of their residents about what they thought about the team at McLean Care. Need staffing solutions for aged care? Feel free to reach out to Adrienne Ritchie, our General Sales Manager, at aritchie@fipgroup.com.au for more information. #FIPGroup #AgedCare #StaffingSolutions #PALMScheme

During a recent site visit to Golden Cockerel Pty Ltd, we had the privilege of meeting two of their Fijian employees, Wata (pictured left) and Kacaraini (pictured right), who joined FIP Group in April. They generously shared their experiences of working in Australia to support their families. For Wata and Kacaraini, arriving in Australia was a significant milestone. Kacaraini fondly recalled the excitement she felt learning she would come to Australia after applying to the PALM Scheme in 2019, "I was so excited and happy, I cried." Their goals in Australia are to support their families back home in Fiji. Wata said, "My main aim was to build a house for our small family and to improve the standard of living at home." Working in Australia's factory environment has provided them with new experiences and learning opportunities. "I've learned about food processing and the importance of hygiene," said Kacaraini. Wata added, "We've also learned how to work in a factory, it’s very different from the work in Fiji." Despite being far from home, their community ties remain strong. "Our families back home are very happy. They call every day, looking forward to hearing our stories," said Kacaraini. Community support extends beyond their families to their fellow Fijians in Australia. "There are 25 of us here and we support each other daily and go to church together every week," said Wata, highlighting the familial atmosphere they've created away from home. Kacaraini and Wata's experiences in Australia are a testament to resilience and determination. Their advice to fellow Fijians wanting to come to Australia is, "Never lose hope. Anything is possible." #FIPGroup #FIPSuccess #PALMScheme

Last month eight PALM workers from the Solomon Islands had a unique experience taking a charter flight to the host employer where they’ll work in vegetation management for three years. Their experience will equip them with skills in land management, a valuable skill for them to support their local communities when they return home to the Solomon Islands. For now, the team of eight are learning to control unwanted plants to preserve crops and landscapes, ensuring biodiversity and agricultural sustainability. #FIPGroup #PALMSuccess #PALMScheme

Congratulations to Richie Isu, one of our dedicated Solomon Islands workers who is about to begin his third year with FIP Group. In his two years working in Australia, Richie has achieved all his goals, including financially supporting his mum and younger sibling in the Solomon Islands and gaining valuable learning experiences he can return home with like improving his English skills and time management. We are proud of his accomplishments and excited to see what he achieves next! #FIPGroup #PALMSuccess #PALMScheme

Last week, eight workers from the Solomon Islands wrapped up their three-day onboarding session at head office in Brisbane before jetting off to our host employer to support the business’s agriculture needs. During their time here, they were also welcomed by our General Sales Manager, Adrienne Ritchie, who shared expectations for their roles in vegetation management. More pictures of their adventures to come! #FIPGroup #FIPSuccess #PALMScheme

Meet one of our Cultural Welfare Officers, Mick Seduadua. Mick is dedicated to supporting our workers in various ways to ensure their well being and smooth integration into the community when arriving in Australia. Here are some of Mick’s highlights from the last month: ⭐ Streamlining the demobilisation process to ensure workers completing their three to four year visas are properly recognised for their contributions and guided on sending their earnings back home. ⭐ Welcoming eight new agriculture PALM workers by providing essential information (such as role expectations, work rosters and payslips) for a smooth transition into the workplace and helping them integrate into their local community. ⭐ Providing workers across the country with ongoing support from wellbeing and finance to family commitments and community integration. ⭐ Regularly checking in with workers to ensure everything is going well both here and back home with their families. Stay tuned for more updates from Mick! #FIPGroup #FIPSuccess #PALMScheme #CulturalWelfare
