    Principal Recruiter - Qualified and Commercial Finance at MARS Recruitment

    Psychometric testing – hit or miss? It’s 2016, I’m going for my first ever 360 recruitment job. And I fail the psychometric test! OK, you cant actually “fail” a psychometric test. But the results showed that I didn’t have any of the typical traits of a Recruiter. Had I been interviewing for the same job and company in the UK, the results would have been considered more heavily, but here in Australia I got the job. Fast forward to today, I think I have done pretty well as a Recruiter despite the test results, which leads me to wonder whether psychometric tests are actually a good indicator of future success? Psychometric tests are designed to measure a variety of traits and abilities, from cognitive skills to personality characteristics. I have heard multiple arguments for and against the use of these tests in a hiring process. What do you think? #psychometrictesting #hiringprocess #recruitment

Anthony and I are finally back together for our regular ACBB series after a whirlwind week at the 5th Annual Aged Care Week in Sydney. We've got a lot to unpack, but first, some shoutouts! A big thank you to Gabrielle Burge who offers continence aids to aged care facilities, home care organisations and hospitals. With Continence Week just passing, we wanted to spread awareness and encourage anyone who needs her services to reach out. We also want to say hello to the team at HammondCare – we hope you're enjoying those umbrellas (but not having to use them)! And a huge shoutout to our conference neighbors, Tracy Laethaisong and Courtland Watson They not only kept us company but also introduced us to Sean Bilton CEO of Estia Health Rachelle and Veronika from Primary Caring/Cumberland Residential, it was fantastic meeting you! Thanks for leading us to the best cookies at the conference (they were legendary!). A shoutout too to Lauren Williams from Uniting She participated in a fascinating panel discussion, and we can't wait to hopefully see her on Anthonys podcast in the future. Finally, a big thanks to Kelvin Neave one of Anthony's previous podcast guests! You were a friendly face at the MARS coffee cart, and your positive energy definitely brightened our days. Now, on to some vacancies! I'm still searching for Registered Nurses interested in relocating to Finley, NSW, or Port Broughton, SA.     🌟 Highlights from the 5th Annual Aged Care Conference in Sydney 🌟 Our very own Danielle R., Anthony Nguyen and Aoife Hegarty had the pleasure of representing MARS Recruitment at the Healthcare Channel 5th Annual Aged Care Conference in beautiful Sydney last week. Here's a little recap: 👉 We had the privilege of meeting many wonderful attendees and exhibitors who are introducing incredible tools to the aged care industry across Australia. 👉 A special mention to Dementia Australia and Rendever, who allowed us to trial their VR equipment aimed at further educating staff and improving residents' lives. 👉 Attending various workshops and listening to passionate guest speakers was truly inspiring.
