I'm excited to be guest presenting to the RMIT students on Personal Branding and Pitching. I work with the MBA program, MBA Exec and Project Management undergraduates.

I was approached by the largest computer maker in the world to be an ambassador of their products and with my tech background at Hewlett Packard and IBM (which Lenovo is a partner), of course I said yes. Especially seeing Ashton Kutcher is their global ambassador!

Olga and I ran the very first Startup Weekend event in 2010. We were colleagues at Sensis previously and when she approached me to partner to bring this event to Australia for the very first time I jumped at the chance. Olga run the Startup Weekend business team, marketing the event and securing mentors. My role was to be host the event at Sensis, fund and facilitate it.

I was the marketing manager for WhereIs maps which is the first mapping website in the world. Then when Apple brought out the app store we partnered with a European company Sygic to create the world's first navigation app for the iPhone - at $99 it was also the top grossing!

CIE Legal is the go-to destination for comprehensive counsel on big projects and everyday advice, thanks to their innovative mindset and industry expertise.

CIE Legal is a prime example of the main type of company client we see at Social Star - a service business.

They began their retainer with Social Star in June 2022, with a marketing coordinator 3 days a week. They sought out Social Star as they were requiring a part-time marketing coordinator to draft content, manage their social media accounts, and coordinate events and proposals.

Their retainer covers a wide range of offerings from our team including, but not limited to; podcasts, videos, social media management, SEO advice, and LinkedIn optimisation.

CIE Legal was a great fit for us, as they were open to a current marketing student running their entire marketing strategy. While they get to see Carynna, a marketing student, in their offices, CIE Legal also receive advice and input from our entire team. Carynna Teh was placed at CIE Legal, where she works two days from their office and one day from home.

Carynna moved to a different role and Carmen took over the duties seamlessly as she was shadowing the account already, which is part of our process. She was so good that CIE eventually hired her for a full-time management role and will utilise Social Star for additional marketing services when required.
