ePublish is CSIRO’s internal review and approval system for publications. CSIRO values its research publications and the ePublish system ensures CSIRO publications are of suitable quality and that commercial, intellectual property, scientific or other sensitivities are managed.

We have an opportunity for an experienced administrative professional to support and monitor ePublish. As the ePublish Administrator, you’ll be responsible for helping users with problems, providing training, supporting system development and reporting.

Please note, this role is open to Australian citizens only. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance.

Your duties will include:

  • Resolving user queries regarding the ePublish system, including answering queries from staff and resolving problems they encounter.
  • Attending meetings with research and library staff to provide updates on the system.
  • Providing learning support for the ePublish system and delivering training sessions for staff who are new to the system, including maintaining training materials.
  • Supporting ongoing maintenance and the development of ePublish, liaising with the system provider on issues identified. Maintaining a register of bugs and issues, scheduling and testing development sprints as required.
  • Actively participating in any project to replace the system, including stakeholder consultation, system scoping, tender evaluation, design and testing.
  • Delivering reporting and analytics for publications, generating and delivering compliance reporting and summary reports from the ePublish publication records.
  • Other duties as directed.

Location: Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide preferred

Salary: AU$93k - AU$105k pa plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Experience providing user support for an information or record management system.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven track record of working independently to solve problems.
  • Experience in identifying complex or ill-defined problems and developing appropriate alternative solutions.

Desirable

  • A tertiary qualification in a scientific or information and communications technology field.
  • Experience within a Research Office, Research Funder, Publisher or Bibliometric Data Provider or writing published research.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, including the use of advanced functions.

Eligibility

Applications for this position are open to Australian Citizens only. Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and may be subject to other security/medical/character requirements.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Baseline Level.
