🚀 What a Speed, timber fever! 🏗️ Amazing construction progress in just two weeks. Super kudos to Joram Vanden Bulcke for the amazing job he does for Artes to coordinate all parties in such a construction dance in Diksmuide! One of the benefits of building with mass timber is the on-site speed, as prefabricated elements significantly reduce construction time. Currently under construction in Diksmuide, this 3-story building, made from CLT, Glulam, and Kerto Ripa, is set to become a new landmark in this beautiful Belgian city. It will include police offices and a patio garden. Solid timber is becoming a leader among alternative construction materials, partly of course due to its ability to reduce a building's carbon footprint 🌍(1m³ of timber sequesters approximately 1 tonne of CO2, making it a sustainable choice) when compared to other materials, but also due to the 🔧 reduced labour, the faster assembly with prefabricated elements. Last but not least come an🌿 aesthetically enhanced/well-being-focused interior environment with visually exposed timber elements: this will be the most beautiful police station to spend a working day!
