Yesterday, Conduit Re was proud to host the 2024 Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies (BFIS) ‘Intro-to-Insurance Summer Intern Programme’ participants, for an afternoon of conversation and insight into the broad range of career opportunities available within the reinsurance market in Bermuda. This program has been established for a number of years, offering a diverse intern program in London, Bermuda and Chicago. Interns spend an intensive, structured 2 – 3 weeks gaining in-depth understanding of the (re)insurance industry. All participating students were selected following a submission of essays to BFIS and completion of Insurance Essentials (from The Institutes CPCU Society) or similar foundational insurance courses. The group of six students heard presentations from our staff in underwriting, actuarial, risk, finance, claims, operations, IT, Legal, compliance & HR. Reflecting on a busy and impactful weekend. We’re proud to have again taken part Relay For Life of Bermuda. This important event, which saw teams relay on the track for over 18 hours to signify that cancer never sleeps, and to raise funds for education and cancer treatment supporting equal access for all. Conduit Re held its first Waterstart Ltd. volunteer day on Wednesday. After suffering extensive damage from storms, the facility on Burt Island has been rebuilt ahead of the summer programme for local kids. Twenty staff from Conduit Re helped paint the building and prepare the surrounding ground for returfing. Waterstart is one of the charities supported by the Conduit Foundation and provides a collection of highly successful outdoor education programmes for local students; 50% of which receive bursaries to attend. #ConduitRe #ConduitFoundation #HelpingintheCommunity
