Ce lundi 15 juillet, l’AIEQ était présente à l’usine de transformateurs de puissance de Hitachi Énergie à Varennes lors de l’annonce d’un investissement de 140 millions de dollars pour moderniser l’usine ainsi que d’autres infrastructures à Montréal. Cet agrandissement verra entre autres la construction d’un centre d’essai de 130 000 pieds carrés pour soutenir la certification des transformateurs de puissance fabriqués à l’usine. Le moment fort de l'événement était sans aucun doute l’allocution de l'honorable François-Philippe Champagne, ministre de l'Innovation, des Sciences et de l'Industrie du Canada. Le ministre Champagne a souligné avec éloquence le rôle crucial de l'usine de Varennes dans l’augmentation de la fiabilité des réseaux électriques. His visit underscored a vital truth: the energy transition is a monumental task that requires collective effort. We were thrilled to showcase our state-of-the-art production facility and introduce him to our dedicated employees who are at the heart of our operations. Nous sommes ravis de partager que l’honorable François-Philippe Champagne, ministre de l’Innovation, des Sciences et de l’Industrie au Canada, a visité notre établissement de Varennes lundi pour dévoiler officiellement l’investissement de 30 millions de dollars du gouvernement canadien. Comme annoncé précédemment, ce financement soutiendra la création d’un centre de simulation HVDC de pointe à Montréal et la modernisation de notre usine de fabrication de transformateurs à Varennes. Ce projet phare servira à améliorer l’intégration des énergies renouvelables et à accélérer la décarbonation en accord avec les objectifs net zéro de 2050 du Canada et du Québec.
