Exciting news, Vancouver! 🚀 Council has selected Lime to operate a shared e-scooter system in Vancouver, launching late summer 2024. 🛴 What to expect: ✔️ Lime will be introducing docking stations to ensure our sidewalks and streets are kept tidy. ✔️ Features like slow zones, sidewalk detection, training mode, helmet selfies, and sobriety testing will be used to ensure a smooth and safe ride. ✔️ The shared e-scooter system will launch in phases, rolling-out first to Hastings-Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland (and with time, city-wide). 🌍 E-scooters are a perfect way to get around the city whether you’re exploring, commuting, running errands or making a delivery. Great presentation with Council yesterday highlighting capital project delivery across #Vancouver! 🙌 It’s been a busy year with many new projects recently completed and underway including: 👉 childcare spaces 👉 community centres 👉 parks and public spaces 👉 bridges, streets, underground infrastructure upgrades, and more! Capital projects build and renew infrastructure and amenities that improve communities for residents. For the 2024 Capital Budget, the City is prioritizing the delivery of $1.25 billion in previously approved multi-year capital project budgets along with proposed additions of $368 million. Thanks to a rainy June mixed with healthy doses of sunshine, #Vancouver pollinator meadows are doing great – just like this one at Burrard and Cornwall. Pollinator meadows provide habitat, keep our air cleaner and cooler, make our city more beautiful and support trees during drought by keeping moisture in soil. You can find them in Vancouver parks and along 11 kilometres of boulevards, attracting bees, butterflies and birds. Do you have a favourite meadow? Tell us in the comments!
