What do you get when you join forces with three brilliant students from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management's Masters of Management Analytics (Data Science) program? An exciting project tackling a real-world industry challenge! Over the last 11 months, these students collaborated with our experts, applying their classroom knowledge to optimize the hydro-transport line flushing process at Kearl using data analytics. In June, we were thrilled to welcome them to Kearl, where they presented their innovative findings to our team. "The best solutions come when you have a diverse team with different experiences and different ways of looking at things," says Andrew Milne, Head of Analytics, Upstream Digital Accelerator, Imperial. "The students provided fresh perspectives, lots of energy and the newest classroom theories and applied it to our challenge." We're proud to support the next generation of leaders and can't wait to see what they achieve next! #Kearl #FutureLeaders

Recently, our Cold Lake team has put technology in the hands of frontline workers with a valuable contribution to their community by donating 21 previously used iPads to Hearts for Healthcare. These devices have been distributed to medical teams across various clinics in the Cold Lake area. By donating these under-utilized resources to organizations like Hearts for Healthcare, we ensure that valuable assets continue to benefit those in need. Our Kearl Women's Interest Network (WIN) recently partnered with CAREERS The Next Generation to welcome 16 female high school students to Kearl. This initiative is part of a summer camp dedicated to hands-on learning, offering students a unique glimpse into careers in technology and trades The day kicked off with inspiring stories from our Kearl team members about their own career journeys. The group visited OPP2, watched our autonomous haul trucks in action, explored the truck shop, and got an up-close look at our mining operations. We are grateful to be a part of an exciting chapter in these students’ careers paths. It was a beautiful morning for some "Yahoos" and "Yeehaws" at our annual Calgary Stampede breakfast today at campus! Our employees, contractors, and their families came together for a morning of pancakes, toe-tappin' music, and face painting for the kids. Thank you to everyone who saddled up and joined us! 🤠

Last week, our Nanticoke Refinery Manager, Jody Grant, had the privilege of awarding Mike Shoreman with the Great Lakes Changemaker Award at the Great Lakes Sustainable Growth Forum dinner hosted by the Council of the Great Lakes Region and the Toronto Region Board of Trade. Mike's story is one of incredible resilience and determination as he is the first person with disabilities to cross all five Great Lakes on a paddle board. We are proud to be a part of recognizing Mike for his work advocating for the Great Lakes and mental health awareness. Congratulations, Mike, on your inspiring achievements!
