LF Edge is a dynamic, cross-functional umbrella project that houses a number of software projects related to Linux in edge computing. I am a very minor contributor and representative from Red Hat, backing up my colleage Lisa who sits on the board.

I have been involved with Eclipse IOT since mid 2022 through evaluation and curation of Red Hat's industrial and edge communities. I took over the board representative position in March 2023.

Eclipse SDV is the premier center of gravity for activity around open source software for software-defined vehicles. I am proud to represent Red Hat to the working group, and to represent fellow Participant members and serve as the chair of the marketing committee.

Chair of the CentOS Automotive SIG since Sept 2021. CentOS board member since August 2022.

SOAFEE is a critically important project in the development and production of a flexible architecture for software-defined vehicles and other use cases for embedded edge computing, sponsored by Arm. I am pleased to help represent Red Hat's interests in the SOAFEE project and to participate on its marketing and communications committee.

ACRN is a lightweight hypervisor focused on security and performance. I helped with the public launch of the project in 2018 and its incorporation into the Linux Foundation, as well as community management from within Intel.

Kata Containers is a virtualized container runtime, OSI-compatible, that combines the flexibility and speed of container technology with the security of virtual machines.

The Ostro™ Project was an open source developed, Linux*-based operating system tailored for IoT smart devices and built with security in mind - an out-of-the-box ready to install with powerful features that easily support IoT device development.

The Zephyr Project is a small, scalable real-time operating system for use on resource-constrained systems supporting multiple architectures. Developers are able to tailor their optimal solution. As a true open source project, the community can evolve the Zephyr Project to support new hardware, developer tools, sensor and device drivers. Advancements in security, device management capabilities, connectivity stacks and file systems can be easily implemented.

I am pleased to be part of the ELC program commitee for many years. This vibrant event has provided education and collaboration for the embedded Linux universe for close to two decades thanks to the tireless effort of Tim and Frank, and I am grateful to play a small part.

I worked with Shuli and the LF Energy board to formally launch LF Energy with 7 software projects, and functioned as program manager until the end of 2021. This wonderful initiative has now grown to many dozens of members and 20 software projects, with a very visible and positive footprint in the electric utilities sector.

I helped onboard RISC-V Foundation into the Linux Foundation and reestablish the organization in Switzerland. During that time, RISC-V grew from two employeees to 8, expanded membership and budget dramatically, and developed strong processes for the curation of the RISC-V ISA.

OpenEmbedded is a longstanding build system for embedded Linux, and a critical component of the Yocto Project. While I was never an official community manager for OE, I helped run board and TSC meetings and facilitated in-person events for many years while I was working on the Yocto Project, and I have been a voting member of OE since 2012. While I am no longer active, no one ever really leaves the OE community...

The Yocto Project is an open source collaboration project that provides templates, tools and methods to help you create custom Linux-based systems for embedded products regardless of the hardware architecture.

The main goal of TOS is to provide resources to educators across the world who are teaching open source concepts and practices to students in academia, with a secondary goal to enable corporate training and other educational activities. I was most involved in the early days of the TOS project, and helped put together a summit at LinuxCon North America in Boston in 2010 with several fellow travelers.

Prior to the Yocto Project, MontaVista - one of the longest lasting embedded Linux companies - started a community called MELD to provide a locus of communication and collaboration for embedded Linux topics. I was the community manager responsible for developing and building the community assets, and then promoting it and being the face of the organization.

I was pleased to be a part of the early BeagleBoard project, an open source, community-driven development board featuring an Arm-based TI processor. The Beagle was a pioneer among open Linux-capable SBCs and the community was very active. I helped with promotion and public speaking, community meetings, and also helped as a mentor for the first two years that the project participated in Google Summer of Code.

I worked on this project while at Palmsource, when the company was acquired by Access. ALP was a revision of the Palm Operating System rebuilt using Linux as its base, designed for mobile phones, PDAs, and early smartphones.

I was a technical writer on the team that created and maintained the Java-based Netscape Application Server for two years in the late 90s, after the product came into Netscape through the aquisition of Kiva Software. During my time there, AOL acquired Netscape and reestablished the Application Server as a joint development initiative called iPlanet, with Sun Microsystems.

I contributed documentation and some minor code to many projects within the GNU project while working as a technical writer and manager at Cygnus Support, one of the earliest successful companies providing commercial support for free and open source software. I continued this effort after I switched companies in 1996, maintaining the GNU documentation set for Wind River for two years.
