🏎️ Autoneum sponsors students’ racing dreams 🏎️ Our engineering experts have teamed up with students from the ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, supporting the Zurich UAS Racing crew in building this year’s race car for Formula Student, one of the world's largest annual global competition for engineers. Expertly guided by our Autoneum engineering and new mobility specialists Alexander Papadimas and Tommaso Delpero, the students designed, tested and manufactured a lightweight, stiff and flame-retardant battery case that will insulate the vehicle’s high voltage battery. We’re excited to support the future generation of engineers with our know-how in battery protection and can’t wait to see how “our” e-car will perform on the track! The official racing season kicks off today in Switzerland, with two more races to come in August and September in Czechia and Italy. Say cheese! 😊 🧀 🤩 Our colleagues in Sevelen, Switzerland, recently organized a meeting with a uniquely Swiss twist for the plant’s management team. After a morning of fruitful discussion between representatives from the Human Resources and Operations departments on key strategic topics, the cheerful group set off for a team building event in an Alpine cheese factory at around 1400 meters above sea level. When rolling up their sleeves to make their very own Autoneum Swiss cheese, the members of the plant’s management team discovered not only some unexpected food processing talents, but also some surprising parallels with their morning activity: After all, in strategy, as in cheesemaking, we need to make sure that we choose the right ideas and ingredients and create the best possible conditions that allow for a smooth execution of the defined recipe – and, of course, we need to give the project at hand enough time to mature to perfection! 😎 We can’t wait to taste the fruits of your labor, dear Sevelen team – call us in six months or so? 😉 #autoneum #autoneumswitzerland #teambuilding #professionaldevelopment

What do March 19, the first, second AND third Sunday in June, the second Sunday in August as well as the second Sunday in November have in common? Any dads reading this? As some of you may have already guessed: they are all official Father’s Day dates around the world. In Argentina, dads are traditionally honored on the third Sunday of June, which in 2024 happened to fall on 16 June. To kick off this year’s Father’s Day weekend, our colleagues in Córdoba therefore decided to surprise all dads in the plant with a small token of appreciation for them to enjoy with their partners and families. Welcoming the future generation of engineers and textile experts Our plants in Bor, Czechia, and Katowice, Poland, recently opened their doors to visitors from two local universities. In Bor, fifteen students and two teachers from the Faculty of Textiles of the Technical University in Liberec enjoyed a tour of the plant’s production halls, where we produce tufted and needlepunch carpets, among other things, for some of the largest European vehicle manufacturers. The future textile experts greatly enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about Autoneum’s processes and fiber-based technologies from our knowledgeable colleagues, some of whom had even attended the same university as them. Our plant in Katowice, Poland, on the other hand, welcomed students from the Department of Production Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in the nearby city of Gliwice. One highlight of their visit, which included insights into Autoneum’s production and logistics processes as well as our quality and training methods, was certainly the hands-on introduction to the various parts that are manufactured in the plant – and the explanations on where they can be found in the car. The Autoneum employees enjoyed the visit just as much as the young talents themselves, and who knows, they might even meet again as colleagues in the not so distant future … #education #autoneum #autoneumbor #nextgen #university #futureworkforce

Let’s pick seven different kinds of wildflowers, dance around a beautifully decorated maypole and feast on a smorgasbord of fresh strawberries, pickled herring, salmon and whatever else the hungry heart desires. Do you know which popular festivity we’re referring to? Anyone? Of course, we are talking about Midsummer – the day of the summer solstice, which marks the longest day of the year and the official start of summer in the northern hemisphere. In Sweden, Midsummer is the most important holiday alongside Christmas, and our colleagues at the Gothenburg plant did not miss the opportunity to join in last week’s festivities. On June 20, one day before this year’s Midsummer’s Eve, members of all shifts came together to kick off the brightest season of the year in good company and with lots of laughter and good food. We are putting the rear of the car at the center of a more circular economy in the automotive industry! Our fully recyclable trunk side trim is the latest addition to Autoneum’s growing portfolio of sustainable monomaterial products made from 100% polyester. Based on our existing Pure technology Propylat PET, the part has an excellent environmental performance in terms of recycled content, waste-free manufacturing and end-of-life recyclability. Apart from side trims, our sustainable 100% polyester concept can also be extended to other trunk trim parts. Thanks to the unique material composition of Propylat, they are lightweight and sound-absorbing, thus contributing to the attenuation of tire and rear e-motor noise. Celebrating family and community ties in Bloomsburg, USA Our Bloomsburg plant had a great turnout for its annual Employee & Family Picnic. Over 350 guests – and a few pets 😊 – attended the gathering, which took place on June 2 at a local amusement park. The picnic lunch was followed by exciting rides, other fun activities and tasty treats. A few weeks earlier, our colleagues in the US had already assembled for a gathering of a different yet equally valuable kind. In the spirit of giving back to the local community, ten Autoneum employees generously donated their time to help clean up debris from an abandoned homeless encampment in cooperation with a local community organization. The volunteers collected and disposed of around 1,000 pounds of debris at the site in a wooded area. Two truly great initiatives that show how important it is for people to come together – both to celebrate and to help others.
