Did you know that the container is the backbone of the Bertschi Group? In the 60's, Bertschi initiated a project to build the first tank container and the first rail terminal in Switzerland to transship the containers in Switzerland. Our long history of continuous innovation for the chemical logistics industry is one we are very proud of. This culture is something we continue to nurture to this day, everyday, in all facets of our operations. We are happy to announce the appointment of Alain Hadorn as the new Managing Director of our Business Unit Dry Bulk. Alain has had an accomplished career at Bertschi, having worked in operations and project management, subsidiary management, and as the deputy to BU Liquids management prior to his new role.   Join us in extending a warm welcome to Alain at our BU Dry Bulk headquarters!   Manfred Zulauf transitions in turn to his new role as Managing Director Plastics Hubs within BU Solutions. He brings with him his extensive knowledge of the dry bulk chemical business. At the same time, Marc Houtermans will direct his focus onto Bertschi’s global chemical hubs as Managing Director Chemical Hubs within BU Solutions. We look forward to the growth of our Solutions business under their seasoned leadership. 

Thank you for visiting us at Transport Logistic in Shanghai! Last week marked the end of an incredibly successful participation in the 20th edition of this industry fair. We are grateful for the many productive discussions we had with our customers and partners from China and neighboring countries. To mark the occasion, the team organized an event inviting colleagues, friends and family, and customers to join in the celebrations. Everyone was treated to great food and company, and a truly heart-warming speech from Gian Bühlmann, Subsidiary Manager Netherlands, which we wanted to share with all of you. The speech is quite an entertaining and touching read that reflects our values and appreciation as a company to all our employees, partners, customers, and loved ones.

Our relationship with our customer Dow is a long-standing one, built on mutual trust and shared supply chain goals. We are happy to bring our best foot forward as a logistics services provider. This year, Bertschi has proudly received the Gold Award for Transportation from Dow. We were presented with a trophy and certificate to honor our performance in Dow's 4star categories of Service, Social Responsibility, Sustainability, and Safety. We’ve had a delightful month of May with two insightful events organized at the Bertschi Terneuzen site with our valued customer Dow that we’d love to share with you, emphasizing the strength and importance of relationship building and knowledge sharing within our industry. Our Bertschi team hosted 68 enthusiastic participants on May 16 from Logistics, Customs, Quality, Claims, Planning, and Customer Service. Attendees were treated to detailed presentations on various tank containers and their equipment, along with the operations at our storage terminal equipped with rail access. Despite the typical Dutch morning rain, the afternoon brought beautiful sunshine, making it a memorable day. We ensured everyone enjoyed food, drinks, bus transport, and a thoughtful gift. Then, on May 23, together with Dow, NORDIC BULKERS AB, and Bruhn Spedition, we welcomed 30 participants from Logistics, Planning, Business, Management, and Customer Service. The event showcased different types of containers and the general operations at a storage terminal, and the food highlight was the Pizza truck under clear, sunny skies. We are proud to have facilitated these events and look forward to more opportunities to connect and collaborate with our partners.
