Given that SAF is projected to account for 65–70% of the aviation industry’s overall emissions reduction needed to achieve net zero by 2050, CirculAir is a critical tool for this hard-to-abate sector. 🌍🔄 CirculAir’s widespread adoption globally will accelerate the production and economies of scale required to bring down SAF costs, making it a commercially viable and sustainable option for the aviation industry. An unexpected challenge of my job in communications at REI is that at any given time there are almost TOO many cool things to talk about. Case in point, this incredibly innovative running collection using a technology that we just announced four months ago--that I had nearly forgotten about until Brent Kawamura reminded me this week. (Original announcement about running shoes using this tech: https://lnkd.in/gzrz6f-T) These running tops are made FROM CARBON EMISSIONS. Read that again! They're made with yarn that uses LanzaTech carbon-capture technology, which captures carbon emissions from industrial sites like steel mills and converts it into ethanol before it can enter the atmosphere. That ethanol can then be used to manufacture completely new materials like polyester. Did your brain just explode? Because mine sure did.
