Drones provide unique aerial perspectives on many situations. There are increasing reports of people flying #drones illegally at major events such as sporting events, music festivals, cultural gatherings and even state occasions. These violations have the potential to cause significant safety risks for people on the ground and other aviation operating in the area. With the upcoming #Olympic Games in Paris 🏅 and a large number of different #sports being played at venues across this part of France, EASA would like to remind you that it is important that you don’t fly your drone near any major public event. Find out more about drone safety during the Olympics Paris 2024 and at other major events on the EASA website: https://lnkd.in/e67zWbtG

When there is an aircraft accident in the #EASA Member States, or involving a European built aircraft, the National Safety Investigation Authority may address recommendations to EASA. Today EASA has published the Annual Safety Recommendations Review which provides a summary of all the recommendations that were addressed to EASA in 2023. It includes information about the types of recommendations received and how the situation in 2023 compares with previous years. There is more specific information about each individual accident and EASA’s replies to the recommendations. This allows you to see what actions have been proposed to improve #aviationsafety. Effective #training is at the heart of a safe aviation system and we are always striving to improve ab-initio #pilot training. Today #EASA has published a new ATP Integrated Course Manual to provide guidelines for NAAs and ATOs on the design and implementation of ATP(A) integrated training courses. The manual will help you to understand the meaning of “integration” of theoretical knowledge instruction and practical flight training, how to put that into practice in effective training and also clarifying the scope of Area 100 KSA. There are lots of other topics covered in the manual – download it now! https://lnkd.in/eDz_-bN4

On 2 & 3 July, #EASA hosted the #AI Days High Level Conference 2024 that provided a key waypoint between the exploratory and consolidation phases of the EASA AI Roadmap. The roadmap takes a human-centric approach that is driven by the principle of human oversight. The effective and #safe use of evolving AI technology in aviation relies on collaboration and the sharing of experiences. It is also vital to have open conversations about the challenge of AI ethics in aviation. The second day also allowed for the final results of the MLEAP (Machine Learning Applications Approval) Horizon Europe Research project to be shared with the aviation community. Presentations and a link to the recordings of these days are available now 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJ6vWBqY
