Künstliche Intelligenz Entrepreneurship Zentrum – als Initiative von Science & Startups und den drei großen Berliner Unis sowie der Charité – hat in den vergangenen drei Jahren über 70 wissenschaftsnahe KI-Startups von Vorgründung bis Wachstum begleitet. Das zeigt: Gemeinsame Sache machen, das funktioniert! Mit UNITE wollen wir das Ganze nun skalieren: Als umfassendes Ökosystem für science-based Startups in Berlin und Brandenburg vereinen wir im Rahmen des Leuchtturmwettbewerbs 'Startup Factories' des Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Kräfte aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft. Jan Thomas von Startup Insider hat es in unserem Podcast-Gespräch richtig 🎙️ gesagt: Das ist ein komplexes Unterfangen, all die verschiedenen Stakeholder zu vereinen. Aber genau darin liegt der Reiz, dieses einmalige Potenzial von 280.000+ talentierten Köpfen an den Unis und Hochschulen in Berlin und Brandenburg gemeinsam für einen Innovationsschub durch mehr Transfer zu hebeln! Was wir konkret mit UNITE vorhaben? 1️⃣ 50.000 Talente pro Jahr unternehmerisch ausbilden: Wir wollen mehr Talente für die Arbeit an und in Startups begeistern, damit sie den unternehmerischen Weg gehen – als Alternative zu Industrie und Academia. Dazu braucht es auch Veränderungen in den Curricula aller Studiengänge, also: mehr Entrepreneurship für mehr potenzielle Gründer:innen! 2️⃣ 40 Prozent Female Founders: Die Herausforderung, mehr Frauen zur Startup-Gründung zu ermutigen, ist allseits bekannt. Wir wollen durch die Vielzahl an Partnerorganisationen und -institutionen den passenden Rahmen für mehr Gründerinnen schaffen. 3️⃣ Ein Startup pro Tag: Sicherlich ein ambitioniertes Ziel, dass im Schnitt pro Tag ein Start-up im UNITE-Kosmos gegründet wird – aber aufgrund des enormen Potenzials durchaus machbar! Der Fokus soll dabei auf Deeptech liegen, weil die Basistechnologien wiederum weitere Gründungen beflügeln können. 4️⃣ Conversion von Seed zu Series-A erhöhen: Leider erreichen noch zu wenige Ausgründungen den Reifegrad, den es für €10m+ Funding und damit signifikantes Wachstum braucht.  An Inspiring Evening of Internationalisation and Innovation! Yesterday evening, alumni of K.I.E.Z. Künstliche Intelligenz Entrepreneurship Zentrum and HUMBOLDT-INNOVATION came together for an enriching exchange of experiences in the field of internationalisation. The director of K.I.E.Z. Laura Möller shared exciting insights into the ongoing development of the Berlin startup ecosystem through UNITE, highlighting how it will continue to grow in international appeal and opportunities. During the Fireside Chat, internationally active founders Jelena Ivanovska, PhD from Exazyme, Chris Vogel, and Sebastian Schulze captivated the audience with their personal journeys and invaluable experiences. The event also featured the German Accelerator's innovative International Readiness Game, fostering dynamic discussions and networking among participants. The exchange with the members of the Humboldt Founders Club was, of course, a key highlight of the evening. Here's a recap of the inspiring presentations and discussions we had: 🎤 Oliver Lange (VORN — The Berlin Fashion Hub) kicked off the event with his insightful introduction and overview on "AI and sustainable fashion", showcasing how AI is revolutionizing the fashion landscape. 🎤 Friederike Fröbel (Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) took us on a journey through the historical interconnections between the fashion and textile industry with technological advancements. Mit dabei: Dr. Ramona Alt von der European-University Viadrina, Yvonne Gruchmann und Christian Mayer von der Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (WFBB), Kristina Bodrožić-Brnić vom Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Zukunftskultur , Dr. Nikolai Genov von Leap Dynamics, Arvid Selle vom Ministerium für Landwirtschaft, Umwelt und Klimaschutz des Landes Brandenburg, Richard Kurka von aurismatic GmbH und Lasse Kohlmeyer vom Hasso Plattner Institute. Künstliche Intelligenz ist eines der zentralen Themenfelder für UNITE. Mit K.I.E.Z. by Science & Startups haben die Berliner Universitäten – Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin und die Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin für den Bereich Künstliche Intelligenz bereits eine gemeinsame Struktur geschaffen, durch die in den vergangenen drei Jahren über 70 wissenschaftsbasierte KI-Startups unterstützt werden konnten. Im Rahmen von UNITE wird eine stärkere Vernetzung zwischen den Berliner und Brandenburger KI-Ökosystemen angestrebt, um die Anzahl von KI-Startups noch weiter zu steigern.
