We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Research Motion Planning. At BMW we are working towards bringing the next generation of robots into our production system. Their autonomy and flexibility allow for better scalability and automation of more complex processes.

What awaits you?

  • Research in dynamic motion planning approaches for industrial environments.
  • Algorithm development and implementation for manipulator motion planning.
  • Evaluating algorithms on real robotic manipulators in our lab.
  • Contributing to exciting innovation projects in industrial robotics.
  • A small, motivated team working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contributing to publications in international conferences or journals.


What should you bring along?

  • Graduate / master studies in robotics, cs, electrical engineering, or related.
  • Experience with C++ and ROS.
  • Technical foundations in some of the following: motion planning, robot control, optimization, robot dynamics, mpc, sampling-based planning.
  • Experience in research environments, such as labs at the university.
  • Experience in working with real or simulated manipulators.
  • Having contributed to scientific publications is a plus.
