John Lowry

Marine Corps veteran, businessman and former Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans’ Employment
(ASEC DOL VETS)

John Lowry is a Marine Corps veteran, businessman and the former Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans’ Employment. He served on active duty for 15 years and spent an additional 10 years in the reserves. While on active duty he led a Force Recon platoon during the First Gulf War, and he was subsequently activated during the Global War on Terrorism to serve in the Horn of Africa. In his business career, he held senior manufacturing roles at Harley-Davidson and was the Chief Operating Officer of the company producing Fleetwood, Monaco, Holiday Rambler and American Coach motorhomes. He later led the US Supply Chain and Operations practice for the leadership advisory firm, Egon Zehnder. Today he serves as an independent advisor to several companies and sits on the boards of YMX Logistics and The Whiskey Project Group. John earned degrees from Princeton, Stanford, Harvard Business School and the US Army War College. He and his wife, Meleda, live in Burlington, Vermont.
