[Insights] When we think about airports, we picture runways and airplanes, car parks and baggage. But what about all the green spaces surrounding that built environment? 💡🌱 Those green spaces could be great natural assets in the fight against climate change! 📩 This is the message from Olivier Taugourdeau of soil.is by Egis. He's helping airports design carbon removal action plans for their land assets using nature-based solutions that remove carbon from the atmosphere and increase biodiversity. We spoke to Olivier at the recent UAF Rencontres conference in Toulouse, where he presented on this exciting area of sustainability innovation. 🗣 #innovation #sustainability #airports

🔋 On 12 July, our Egis teams had the chance to visit Symbio's SymphonHy plant, Europe's largest factory for the production of hydrogen fuel cells. 🌍 🚀 With a capacity of 16,000 fuel cell systems and 50,000 by 2026, this Gigafactory is at the heart of the energy revolution underway. Thanks to massive investment and real progress, Symbio is making hydrogen a reality. 👷♂️🔨 Egis is proud to have been involved in this ambitious project from its inception to its completion, in its role as technical advisor for both the construction of the Gigafactory and the hydrogen production, compression and storage unit for testing and activating the fuel cells when they leave the plant. Our multi-disciplinary teams met very tight construction schedules, costs and quality, demonstrating our ability to meet the most demanding challenges. This major project, completed in just over two years, demonstrates our teams' dedication and expertise. [Success Story 🎬] The Simone Veil bridge: an exceptional feat of engineering and the new largest bridge in Europe! 🌉🥇 Discover the project highlights! 👇 Egis brought its expertise on the design phase and for works supervision, building on flagship projects already delivered like the Jacques Chaban-Delmas vertical lift bridge. In the end? Inhabitants and users of Bordeaux Metropole got a new crossing possibility between the two banks, in the context of a very wide and turbulent river, spanning 500m! This new bridge will unload traffic on other existing bridges and favour soft modes of transport: pedestrians, cyclists and public transportation.
