"Bring it back, bro!" The aim of this campaign is to donate (recall) as many unused mobile devices, GPS or tablets and their chargers as possible, without data, that are no longer in use, thus promoting the circular economy and helping to save the habitat of the Congolese primates and the lives of local communities. The used chargers are a treasure trove of 17 metals, including gold, silver, palladium and copper. The mining of raw materials for mobile phones, such as coltan, threatens the habitat and survival of endangered species in Africa (e.g. gorillas, bonobos and chimpanzees) and the interests of local communities. We want to curb this process, because if the metals in used mobile phones are recycled in larger quantities, the mining of the ores needed to produce them is expected to decrease. It is always a great pleasure when we can give something back to the community. There's a reason why we place so much emphasis on our CSR activities at Group level! Ipackchem's Peremarton site was the best performing Small to Medium Enterprise in 2023 for the Jane Goodall Institute's campaign (collection of unused mobile phones and data storages at workplaces). It's a huge honor and recognition for us, and a perfect confirmation that we are on the right track in our commitment to social responsibility. We thank all our Hungarian colleagues (special thanks to Janos Imre who organized this) for the small steps they have taken together for a more sustainable and better future! "Every little act counts. Every single person can do something, every single day and every minute, to make the world a better place." - Dr. Jane Goodall
