Founded in 2020 and headed by CEO Assaf Rappaport, Wiz was recently valued at $12B and had considered an IPO in May. This potential deal would represent the company’s largest acquisition to date, highlighting its heightened focus on cybersecurity amid increasing threats to governments and businesses. 🎬 The Walt Disney Company is ramping up efforts to keep viewers engaged on its streaming platforms by introducing personalized content recommendations and pop-up live channels featuring popular series like "The Simpsons." These initiatives aim to emulate Netflix's data-driven approach to enhance user retention and increase advertising revenue. ⚕️Thrive Global and OpenAI's Startup Fund back Thrive AI Health, a new startup championed by Arianna Huffington and Sam Altman. The initiative aims to provide personalized advice on sleep, food, fitness, stress management, and social connection via an AI health coach. 🤖 DeepL, a translation software startup, has unveiled its most powerful large language model yet for business. This specialized large language model enhances translation capabilities between German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and English, promising more accurate translations with reduced errors, fine-tuned using extensive proprietary data and human expert input. 💰 FTX and the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) have agreed to a $12.7B settlement, pending approval from a Delaware judge. After the exchange's collapse in 2022 due to fraud allegations, the CFTC will receive nothing if FTX complies with its reorganization plan, allowing up to $12.7B to be paid to creditors, based on available funds.
