Don't tell people how to do their job, trust them to do it. here's how in 5 ways:
1. Hire the right people.
Look for candidates who are:
↳ Self-starters
↳ Independent thinkers
↳ Driven
↳ Detailed oriented
↳ Team players
Hiring the right people is half the battle.
2. Set clear expectations.
Make sure each team member understands their role, responsibilities, and the end goal.
Outline deadlines, guidelines, and possible pitfalls.
Give your team the chance to ask questions, so they're not left guessing.
3. Empower your team.
Give your team members the autonomy to decide how they'll complete tasks.
Micromanagement kills creativity and makes a team feel untrusted.
Allowing your team members to experiment and take risks can lead to great results.
4. Provide resources and support.
Your team needs resources to complete their tasks.
Make sure they have access to:
↳ Software
↳ Hardware
↳ Training materials
↳ Any other resources they need
Provide support when your team needs it.
5. Focus on results, not methods.
Don't micromanage the process.
Instead, focus on the end results and let your team figure out the best way to achieve them.
This empowers them to be creative and innovative, and it also shows that you trust their judgment and capabilities.
