(...) I ended up solving this through the Iridium extension but that only works on desktop and somehow doesn't block content in the Trending Feed. (...)

Never thought of testing the feed lists because I never use them, will check to see what can be done. It is also possible other features aren't covering feeds (shorts blocker, for example).

Issue seems resolved with limitations. Some of the explore pages are actually channels around a topic, and making an exception for these would be too complex to be manageable than it already is so I prefer to handle those as any other channel and not block videos in them.

However, the blacklist is now working for videos in the /feed/trending, /gaming and /podcast pages.

As for the shorts control feature, it is indeed limited to the only 3 pages it was designed for, but I might consider in the future covering the same pages as the channel blacklist now does.
