Important fixes were made, but in three years no new release?

Sorry for the delayed response.
There's only one fix that went in a few months back and I understand creating a new release would be beneficial for users.

However, Google has made it hard to do so. They require all apps to target the latest Android version for releasing to the Play Store and since newer Android versions have much more strict storage access restrictions, I'd have to make a lot of changes. I'd also have to keep all libraries including the billing ones up to date and the app size would also increase significantly than what it is now. I believe the app still works on newer Android versions as is which makes me reluctant to change things.

I know this sounds like I'm going on a rant and being lazy but I've had my fair share of dealing with Google changing things all the time and having to deal with workarounds to get the expected result. I've mostly moved on from Android development as a result of this. That being said, I'm still open to PRs if someone wants to contribute.

I could setup a pipeline which would create a release on GitHub with an unsigned APK containing the latest changes. Let me know if you're interested in this.

Since there isn't any good alternatives for this app, I think, it would be a shame to let this one die. I'll probably try making PRs or a fork to bring all this up-to-date once I have a bit more time. In the meantime, if you could make that build, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
