Some folks from Google have been working out a way for applications to integrate with the find in page UI browsers offer: https://github.com/rakina/find-in-page-api/blob/master/README.md & https://github.com/rakina/find-in-page-api/blob/master/explainer-extended.md.

Originating issue: whatwg/html#2858.

Ongoing TAG review: w3ctag/design-reviews#236.

This one looks like it might have been overtaken by events. Closing due to inactivity; reopen if things move.

Are you referring to whatwg/html#2858? Or some other events?

I have to assume that ~4 years of inactivity on spec changes is indicative of abandonment. Is that wrong?
