"Forbidden" error on Export #982
Comments
Hi and thanks for the report. This may be similar to #869, which has been tricky to replicate. However, it sounds like you're able to replicate it rather easily. Does this happen every time you try to export? Have you ever been able to export successfully? Recent log output from TileMill may help us debug the issue. On Mac OS X, logs are viewable by choosing Console from the app’s Window menu. On Linux, logs are written to Are there any messages in the log? If so, please post them here. Thanks, |
I also get the Forbidden message when I try to save a change eg. to one of the demo maps. I also got it after I tried to add a new project (when I clicked Add, got Forbidden, and had to restart). I get the same message with every export try. Basically I'm locked out! I may try building from source next week, and see where that goes. None of those "errors" seemed to effect the log, it looked like this before and after:

Where did you place your tilemill.app? Also does your mac user have administrative abilities on this machine? |
It was moved by the operating system to the users Application folder (the OS asked to move it and I assented). I moved it again to the main applications folder, but nothing changed. The user is the admin, yes. |
I managed to get a "Forbidden" error when creating a new project, after millstone downloaded the new base shapefile. |
I ran into the same issue. The problem was that I was blocking cookies and everything else I have been playing with before works fine without cookies. The Export seems to require cookies, though. |
I also got the problem on OSX 10.8.2, but only when I changed to the osm-bright templates (separate download). The problem seemed to be that these templates rely on external data (like coastlines) for which pressing the save button triggers the download, which probably times out. I removed the dependency on these downloads and the problem seems to have gone away. |
I just downloaded TileMill for OS X and tried to export a map from the Control Room demo (and others). I tried png and svg. Both times I get an error simply says Forbidden.
I downloaded 0.7.0
I'm on OSX 10.6.8
I tested TileMill almost a year ago. Really nice progress!
Many thx.
