We should definitely do it at some point.

It should be relatively straightforward, but I lack the time to do it right now.

Any help in this direction would be much appreciated.

I can help for sure. I'm working on Privacy & Security add-ons at Mozilla, and I've made a few Web Extension add-ons for it already.

I'll try to jump in ASAP.
