We've encountered an issue with the latest version of Chrome (126) on Windows. When using the getUserMedia
API to record audio while simultaneously playing multimedia content through VIDEOJS, the audio quality is noticeably degraded compared to previous versions of Chrome. This degradation was not observed in earlier versions. Stopping the multimedia playback in VIDEOJS resolves the issue and restores the expected sound quality. However, our use case requires simultaneous operation—recording audio via the microphone while playing audio-video content in VIDEOJS or even on YouTube.
Has anyone else experienced this drop in quality? Is anyone aware of this regression in audio quality? For comparison, there are no such issues when using Firefox, and with Chrome version 120 on Ubuntu 20, the sound recorded is not impacted.
