Over 100 colleagues, friends and family members across Jardines participated in a 'Colleague Volunteering' event at Tung Ping Chau Island in Hong Kong, cleaning up its shorelines and hiking trials. The island, which is part of the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, is renowned for its remarkable geological features. However, its remote location makes it less accessible for volunteers, making this initiative a valued opportunity for Jardines to contribute to the local community. As our volunteers cleaned up the island, they were also reminded of the shared responsibility we all have in protecting nature. A total of 80kg of waste was collected and properly disposed. Volunteers were also given a guided tour by an island native, who shared insights into its significance towards Hong Kong's geology and marine ecology. At Jardines, we are committed to protecting biodiversity and minimising our impacts on nature as we understand safeguarding ecosystems across our operations is paramount to the long-term sustainability of our business. Check out the highlights here and stay tuned for more Jardines volunteering updates.
