Over 100 colleagues, friends and family members across Jardines participated in a 'Colleague Volunteering' event at Tung Ping Chau Island in Hong Kong, cleaning up its shorelines and hiking trials. The island, which is part of the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, is renowned for its remarkable geological features. However, its remote location makes it less accessible for volunteers, making this initiative a valued opportunity for Jardines to contribute to the local community. As our volunteers cleaned up the island, they were also reminded of the shared responsibility we all have in protecting nature. A total of 80kg of waste was collected and properly disposed. Volunteers were also given a guided tour by an island native, who shared insights into its significance towards Hong Kong's geology and marine ecology. At Jardines, we are committed to protecting biodiversity and minimising our impacts on nature as we understand safeguarding ecosystems across our operations is paramount to the long-term sustainability of our business. Check out the highlights here and stay tuned for more Jardines volunteering updates. Jardines Green Month concluded last week, with over 300 colleagues across Jardines and 15 NGO partners participating.    In the second week, a range of engaging and educational activities were held, including upcycling workshops and a massage corner set up in the office in partnership with a social enterprise supporting people with visual impairment. Another highlight was "Green@Jardines", a week-long, sustainability-themed race where colleagues tested their knowledge on our green office initiatives and promoted environmental awareness. Colleagues also took a guided tour to Jardine Engineering Corporation biochar production plant at Tuen Mun to learn about the transformation process turning wood waste to biochar, as well as the creative applications of biochar like soil conditioners and building material addictive.   Check out the highlights here. Together, we strive for a sustainable community.   #Jardines #JardineMatheson #SustainabilityatJardines #GreenMonth   Dress Green Green One Lab Limited

Last month, 35 leaders across Jardines Vietnam participated in its inaugural tree-planting activity at the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve in Ho Chi Minh City. 35 Lumnitzera Racemosa trees, known for their vital role in coastal ecology, were planted - furthering our commitment towards environmental restoration and biodiversity conservation. This event also served as an invaluable opportunity for colleagues to reconnect with nature while fostering team spirit and collaboration. In Hong Kong, Jardines launched a restoration programme which aims to plan and maintain 200 seedlings every year for the next decade. Together, we will continue to drive sustainability and make a positive impact on our communities    #Jardines #JardineMatheson #JardinesVietnam #SustainabilityatJardines #sustainability #treeplanting
