We announced Starbucks first certified Greener Store in India, located in Ayali Kalan in Punjab, as Greener Store of the Year in Asia Pacific. The Ayali Kalan store was identified from a shortlist of finalists including Greener Stores from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. These stores are part of the over 6,000 certified Greener Stores in more than 40 markets globally that help advance the company’s goal to reduce carbon emissions, water usage and landfill waste by 50% in 2030. Starbucks has set an ambitious global goal of certifying 10,000 Greener Stores by 2025 and we are on track to meet that goal.   The Ayali Kalan Greener Store features an electrical vehicle (EV) charging station, a rainwater harvesting system to support water conservation, and distributes its used coffee grounds to be used as fertilizer in surrounding developments. In addition to using energy and water-efficient equipment, the building is constructed using local clay bricks, advanced insulation, abundant glazing for natural daylight, and large roof overhangs with a high solar reflectance index to minimize heat gain.   Congratulations to @Sushant Dash and the partners in Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam for this achievement and a big thank you to all our partners in Asia Pacific for their commitment to our environmental promise - to give more than we take.   #GreenerStores #Sustainability   https://lnkd.in/g_MBsywv

As I look back on 2023 in Starbucks AsiaPacific, I am filled with gratitude for our incredible partners across the region and their unwavering dedication to the Starbucks Experience. Our renewed mission to nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection has guided us through an extraordinary year. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones and overcome unprecedented challenges. Through it all, our value of courage has guided us, enabling us to adapt, innovate, and serve our customers with excellence. Our partners, especially our Green Apron partners, have been the driving force behind our success. Their commitment, craft and passion fuel our journey towards becoming the most loved coffee brand and the Third Place where everyone feels belonged. With 2024 now upon us, I am optimistic and excited as we continue to strive to create memorable coffee experiences, empower, nurture our partners and uplift the communities we serve and create a sustainable future.
