A new and burgeoning offshore wind industry can be realised in Victoria, Australia. At the Australian Wind Energy Strategic Summit yesterday, Mainstream’s Bernard Casey spoke about: 🌬 how the UK offshore wind industry has evolved, and 👷♀️ our experience and lessons learnt in developing what is now the world’s largest offshore farm, Hornsea. Mainstream helped establish a local blade manufacturing facility in the UK for Hornsea, now employing a thousand people and we look forward to working alongside our consortium partners Reventus Power, AGL and DIRECT Infrastructure to help bring similar experience and benefits to our Gippsland Skies Offshore wind project through working with the local supply chain and building local knowledge and relationships. 👉 The Gippsland Skies consortium is committed to working together to support the Victorian State government in delivering on its target of 4 GW of offshore wind energy before 2035 and unlocking the offshore wind revolution in Australia. 🌈 See how our colleagues around the world celebrated Pride this month. Here are just some of the activities that took place: Our South Africa office hosted a Pride Talk during their regular ‘Together Tuesday’ team day, and also promoted a TED Talk on Being an Ally in the Workplace. In Chile, the team held an art exhibition featuring some amazing pieces created by artists from the LGBTQI+ community. And here at our Dublin HQ, colleagues got together for a very healthy rainbow breakfast and lunch, and held a fundraising activity for Belong To - Ireland’s national LGBTQI+ youth organisation. Here at Mainstream, we strive towards a #diverse and #inclusive workplace where every employee can be themselves and feel that they #belong. Activities such as these remind us just how important it is to understand and value our differences, and we thank all those involved in organising them. ❤️ Mainstream Renewable Power South Africa Mainstream Renewable Power Latam #Pride #Diversity #Inclusivity #Belonging

Mainstream and Hexicon’s joint venture, Freja Offshore hosted a panel debate at Almedalen yesterday in Sweden. Freja’s CEO, Carl Goran Dandanell contributed to the discussion reinforcing Freja’s commitment to build floating industrial scale projects quickly! The emphasis is now on getting industry, grids, ports and shipyards in place to help deliver these! ⚡🍃🌬 #floatingoffshore #offshorewind #Almedalen
Korea Floating Wind participated in the '2024 Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Forum' last week 📆. 🤝The high-level forum was attended by the Mayor of Ulsan, senior representatives of the National Assembly and MoTIE and around 500 stakeholders including Mainstream's Leif Holst and Nicolay Bergli Alexandersen (selfie below 😉). Some of the areas covered in panel discussions include; 🏗 key socio-economic benefits floating offshore wind can deliver both nationally and regionally, 🍃 achieving carbon neutrality and transforming Ulsan into an eco-friendly energy city, ⚡ how floating offshore wind can play a key role towards energy independence in Korea and can be a growth engine for Ulsan city. With thanks to the organising committee of the Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Energy Association, of which Korea Floating Wind is a member together with the other 4 floating projects in Ulsan, the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ulsan Technology Park and sponsored by the Ulsan Metropolitan City. Korea Floating Wind, a partnership between Mainstream and OW Ocean Winds is developing the 1.2 GW floating project. Austin Park, Project Director of Korea Floating Wind, spoke of the good collaboration among the five projects, authorities, and stakeholders, which has resulted in significant progress in the project’s permitting, interconnection, and environmental impact assessment in recent months. #floatingoffshore #offshorewind

Today, we’ve achieved a crucial step forward for our 2.5 GW Mareld Floating Offshore Wind Farm in Sweden! The County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland issued a positive recommendation, proposing that the government approves the application to build the wind farm. The Mareld Wind farm, will be located around 40 kms off the coast of western Sweden and when fully operational the wind farm has the potential to deliver 9-12 TeraWatt hours (TWh) of power annually corresponding to more than half of the entire existing electricity consumption of the Västra Götaland region. The wind farm is part of the Freja Offshore portfolio of projects, a 50/50 joint venture with local partner, Hexicon. We’ve just expanded our pipeline in #Australia, with active projects in three States. Supported by our wider #APAC and global teams, our colleagues have been building partnerships with key stakeholders, to grow our business in this important market. 🌊 Feasibility licence granted to our consortium for a fixed-bottom 2.5 GW #OffshoreWind project, Gippsland Skies, Victoria, 🌞 Investigative permit granted for a 500 MW #OnshoreWind farm in Sunny Corner, New South Wales, and 💨 Developing 1.5 GW of onshore wind projects in Queensland. Our combined effort will help the Australian Government transition from fossil fuels to #RenewableEnergy sources, as it aims to achieve a target of 82% renewable electricity by 2030. We continue our efforts globally to deliver a world powered by renewable energy. #renewablesnow
