We had an exception breakout discussing multiple emerging topics such as , is Web3 real ? what will the future look like ? what challenges are ahead of us to make it happen ?
We observed the need to further advance topics such as scale, performance, privacy, Usability and of course regulation to enable mass adoption of dApps. Metaverse and Web3 are strongly interlinked and we shall see how the evolution of one will enable the other and visa versa. Finally we had an interesting discussion…We had an exception breakout discussing multiple emerging topics such as , is Web3 real ? what will the future look like ? what challenges are ahead of us to make it happen ?
We observed the need to further advance topics such as scale, performance, privacy, Usability and of course regulation to enable mass adoption of dApps. Metaverse and Web3 are strongly interlinked and we shall see how the evolution of one will enable the other and visa versa. Finally we had an interesting discussion about the level of decentralization needed and in what cases. Looking forward to continue the discussion, as this is a long journey.

Using cognitive computing and artificial intelligence (AI) we can analyze this data, reason about it, and gain insights that would…
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the next big transformational change to industry that will impact our life, be it as consumers or employees. IoT influences the life of every one of us by instrumenting and connecting our homes, cars, offices, and more. All this is made possible through the collection of massive amounts of data about every aspect of our lives. Using cognitive computing and artificial intelligence (AI) we can analyze this data, reason about it, and gain insights that would otherwise be impossible due to the huge number of data sources and vast quantity. I will present some of the most difficult challenges IBM Research is tackling to enable this new era. My talk will focus on emerging trends such as conversational assistants (a.k.a. as chatbots) and Industry 4.0 examples. I'll introduce a new cloud software as a service (SaaS) that allows businesses to quickly craft their own Watson-powered Personal Assistants. I will also share the challenges involved and our experience building a variety of industry-specific assistants for areas such as automotive, hospitality, and others. This assistant framework goes beyond question-answering conversation to provide reasoning, multi-modal interactions, personalization, and proactive triggers that exploit industry ontologies.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that people also form an integral part of the IoT, whether carrying mobile devices or jumping onto the wearables bandwagon. Therefore, the locations, activities and intentions of people play a big part as input into the reasoning engine in order to make meaningful mobile applications. Developing context-dependent mobile solutions is a complex challenge, but a system of real added-value services must be created, as well as a comprehensive IT architecture to support it. In addition, the huge amounts of data produced by the IoT require real-time analytics to make sense of it all and turn them into actionable insights. Future mobile apps must be cognitive to "understand" user intentions based on all the available interactions and unstructured data. In short, a new distributed programming paradigm is emerging to meet these needs, and deal with the massive amounts of data and devices that are changing how people work and live.
