“Pankaj is a very dependable leader. While working with me, he was my go to person when I need any information on a large number of programs that were running within the Devices SV team. At times, he was responsible for about 20 concurrent programs and knowledgeable about many other programs that he was not running. He has demonstrated consistent commitments to achieving the goals assigned to him and has managed to focus on the tasks to the benefit of the company. Pankaj also enjoys the traits of accurate quality judgment of a senior leader, as well as the correct customer orientation in these judgments. He always acts as an advocate for his customers by influencing the larger functional teams on their behalf. For example, he keeps in mind the long term implications to customers when deciding on releasing a product to the field. He also highlights the advantages to the company of products making good profits in the field and regularly reviews the financials and market penetration of every product for which he is responsible. Although it was an external contract with 3rd party resources in Vietnam, Pankaj managed to develop their skills by providing constructive feedback and recommendations of areas of focus. He frequently encouraged the team to do more than the mandated testing, investigate new tools and ideas, come up with meaningful ways to show results and be empowered to talk about their ideas. Pankaj effectively deploys active listening techniques and carefully responds to other people’s thoughts. This enabled me to have open discussions with him and together we always reached good decisions. For example, we have been working on resource constraints within our teams and through deep discussions we formulated a plan of prioritization that we presented to product line management which was welcomed and accepted. ”
