🎨 Unleashing Creativity and Conversation for Powerful Convergence 🎨 At this year's Facilitation Lab Summit, we were thrilled to host a transformative workshop led by the dynamic facilitator K Solomon Masala Titled "Using Art and Conversation for Convergence," this session provided participants with a unique opportunity to experience how creative expression and dialogue can drive deeper insights and collaboration. Solomon kicked off the session by introducing the concept of convergence through artistic means, emphasizing the role of visual and verbal expression in bridging gaps and fostering understanding. Participants were encouraged to create their own pieces of art, capturing their thoughts and emotions on various themes. Following the art creation, attendees engaged in guided conversations, sharing their artistic interpretations with one another. This exercise promoted active listening and allowed participants to uncover shared perspectives and common ground. The room buzzed with excitement as people connected over their creations, leading to rich discussions and collaborative ideas. A standout moment was the group activity where participants collectively built a mural, each contributing a piece that represented their individual insights. This mural became a powerful symbol of unity and collective intelligence, demonstrating the strength of combining diverse voices and talents. The session wrapped up with a reflective dialogue, where participants shared their experiences and the insights they gained from blending art and conversation. Vinod Khosla's TED Talk on "12 Predictions for the Future of Technology" is a must-watch for anyone interested in the potential of emerging technologies to transform our world. As a renowned venture capitalist and technology optimist, Vinod Khosla outlines a bold, exciting, and thought-provoking vision. Some of the key takeaways that resonated with me: - Thanks to AI, Expertise will become nearly free and widely accessible. Khosla envisions a world where everyone can access virtual doctors, tutors, and experts across domains at minimal cost. This democratization of knowledge could be genuinely transformative. - Labor will be largely automated, with billions of robots doing more work than all human labor today. While daunting, Khosla argues that if handled with empathy and proper redistribution, this will free humanity from servitude and create abundance. - Computers will become ubiquitous utilities that adapt to humans rather than vice versa. SATURATED 🌈⛈️ SPECTRUMS Double-Clicking for Deeper Understanding of the Autonomic Nervous System and Behavioral Outliers As over half a million people have explored this diagram representing our vast continuum of human behavior and emotion, it becomes increasingly evident that the autonomic nervous system (ANS) serves not merely as a regulator of the unconscious, but as a sophisticated mediator of our social interactions and individual idiosyncrasies. At the core of our analysis is the recognition of outliers—individuals whose experiences and responses diverge from the statistical norm. We are all part of this spectrum! Be aware. All individuals whom we observe, be they at the fringes of social functionality, high or moderate, or deeply in a cocoon of normal, we all display a unique acuity in the modulation of our ANS. It's a nuanced dance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems, alongside the oft-overlooked enteric system, that choreographs our place within the societal fabric. Outliers offer distinctive positioning on the behavioral spectrum challenges our understanding of 'normality' and compels us to broaden our perceptions. The term 'outlier' in this context is not a pejorative but a descriptor of variance, encompassing both the profound capabilities and the distinct challenges these individuals face. It is within this variance that we find the intricate beauty of human diversity. The Polyvagal Theory provides us with a lens through which to view these variations not as dysfunctions, but as different functional states of being. The term "#Strategy" has been used often in professional conversations. Now bundled with tech buzzwords #AIStrategy, #CloudStrategy, #DigitalStrategy, #SustainabilityStrategy..... Have you wondered what strategy means, and why most organizations fail in implementing those? At AllThingsConnected we crafted and implemented a practical Digital Strategy Organization Framework (DOSF) to help our customers (end users and tech providers) accelerate their digitalization journey with a structured phased-wised approach. The two most important skills in DOSF are: 1.) Strategic Thinking 2.) Program Management They go hand in hand addressing multiple dimensions. 1.] What is Strategy? Strategy is a set of clear choices that will "differentiate" your organization in the market and industry "delivering better and unique values" to your customers. - Depending on your organization you need to create business strategies, align with corporate, and digital. - Strategy is NOT the goal, but how to get to those goals. - If you compete for the same goals, e.g. price or feature- you will fall into a zero-sum game trap and race to the bottom. -Instead, if you aim to be unique and better- that is a positive-sum game. A positive-sum game can be a differentiator for solutions providers in the hashtag #DigitalEcosystem, where they dont push their tech, but create unique values for their customers in collaboration, even with competitors. - We refer to the positive-sum game as #TotalEcosystemValue at AllThingsConnected as we analyze, map, and orchestrate S2S, sense (#data) to sense (#business), and #ValueChain with our tech partners to accelerate and amplify value for the end users. The strategy is about the entire company, to survive, sustain and scale in the future. 2.] Why Program Management? The Digitalization journey becomes challenging because most initiatives run under a BU or within one function. This results in multiple silos, call them #DigitalMeuseums, #DigitalTrophies.
