Environmental concerns are shaping new regulations worldwide, impacting refrigerants across various applications. CAREL's latest white paper delves into these changes, focusing on regulations in the EU and the US. The EU's revised F-gas regulation, effective from March 11, mandates phased reductions in HFCs with a complete phase-out by 2050, including HFO requirements. Meanwhile, the AIM Act in the US regulates HFCs, promoting a shift to next-gen technologies. Explore how CAREL's analysis can help you navigate these regulations and find suitable solutions for refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pumps. As we transition to sustainable energy, HVAC heat pumps play a key role in reducing energy consumption while maintaining indoor comfort. However, stricter regulations on harmonic compliance are crucial to ensure grid stability and efficiency. Power Factor Correction (PFC) technology offers a solution. It actively manages the power factor, reducing harmonic distortions and optimising energy consumption. Unlike passive filters, PFC ensures compliance, lowers electricity bills, and improves grid stability. With many countries using three-phase networks, adopting inverters with PFC technology in residential heat pumps is essential. Is the market ready?
