Responsible for technical activities within the framework of the ‘Maitrise d’Oeuvre” of the CO5 (section of the Turin-Lyon base tunnel between Modane and the French-Italian border) and CO10-CO11 (management of excavation materials on the Italian side and the French side

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the control and supervision of the Head of Technical Coordination:

• Supervision of the validation activities of construction projects and technical documentation produced by companies holding contracts for the execution of large underground and open-air works included within the perimeter of competence of the operational site (VISA mission), in addition, obviously, to direct participation in activities as far as inherent to its specialization.
• issuance of product and material approvals;
• review and validation of acceptance procedures (inspection sheets, stop point resolution sheets, etc.);
• monitoring of survey results throughout the duration of work and verification of adequacy of sizing;
• supervision of the various ongoing activities on the different surface sites;
• checking the proper operation of facilities for the production and processing of excavated materials, including in line with environmental requirements;
• data collection on workforce and vehicles present at the site;
• evaluation of production and identification of potential problems and/or causes of any stoppages;
• verification of delivery notes and checking the type, quality and installation of materials used;
• monitoring of the application of the Contractor's QA/QC program and documentation of any non-conformities of documentary control, process, material control and work execution;
• verification of the conditions of hygiene and safety at work;
• verification of the proper functioning of logistics and water drainage services, as well as the condition of transit routes and traffic conditions;

Person Specification:

Knowledge & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Edile Engineering (preferably with Geotechnical focus)/Mineral Engineering, or Geology - BIM Specialist/Coordinator Qualification is a plus

Experience: Experience in infrastructure projects with underground works and excavated material management

Skills and Abilities:

- knowledge of French, Italian and international technical regulations related to the design, construction and supervision of large underground works;

- Knowledge of tunnel excavation techniques and processes for managing and exploiting excavated materials; and

- Knowledge of BIM design methods

- Knowledge at least at a basic level (C1/B2) of the French language

- Knowledge of the Office package (particularly Excel)

- knowledge and basic use of AutoCAD 2D/3D

- ability in working with planning software such as Primavera P6 and accounting management software such as STR VISION.
