Position Summary:

The Human Relations Temporary Manager is responsible for the People function providing best in class services that facilitate greater effectiveness throughout the bakery(ies). This role is the temporary Champion of People & Diversity and Inclusion for the bakery(ies) supporting the General Manager, Plant Manager(s), local leadership and hourly associates.

The successful candidate has strong labor relations/employee relations experience, proven HR Managerbackground and is engaged in the business. The ideal candidate has a sense of urgency and owns strongcommunication skills.

The position will be responsible for the 2 facilities of Bomporto (Modena) and Monterotondo (Rome), with regular presence in one of them and 30% to 50% trevelling per month to the second.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Policy Management: Interprets Company Policies and Collective Agreements representing the organization in personnel and employment regulatory compliance related investigations, grievances and hearings.
  • Labor Relations: Prepares for and serves as part of the Company’s committee regarding contract negotiations and lead the administration of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. This includes providing ongoing advice to management personnel on labor relation matters.
  • Performance Management: Serves as a transparent partner by working with the people managers to determinethe appropriate courseof action about staffing, hiring,performance management, safetyor/or attendance concerns. Partner as a coach with leaders and participate in hourly meetings with supervisors and associates. Lead the processand communication for annual merit and performance reviews.
  • HR/Organization Consulting: Acts aschange management facilitator and organizational consulting with all levels of associates supporting our Manufacturing Transformation goals.
  • Associate Programs: Administers the annual BenefitsEnrollment Process, Companywide surveys, and answers timely to associates HR inquiries
  • Talent Acquisition: Creates,delivers and managesthe annual staffingplan. Manages the pipeline of key talentfor BQ by managing open positions throughthe full recruitment life cycle for management level positions withinthe facilities. Is Responsible for compliance management for the recruitment files (e.g., resumes, interview notes, calibration and selection process).
  • Onboarding Program: Maintains, delivers and continuously improves an effectiveonboarding program for new hires alignedwith corporate and local requirements driving retention of top talent.
  • Talent Management: Owns and drives the processfor the Plant in regardsto associate profiles, goal setting, development plans, midyear reviews,annual goal evaluation and succession planning.
  • Associate Learning & Development: Conducts new hire orientation sessions, other HR related training programs such as Leadership sessions & Respect in the Workplace, and additional training needs as assessed by leadership.
  • Associate Relations: Develops and implements effective positive AssociateRelations programs aimed at associate engagement. Associates event planning, mentor programs, social responsibility programs and administration of Rewards & Recognition are also involved.
  • Systems: Manages monthly HRIS audits and Requisitions. Review Monthly People KPI´s that are prepared by the HR Generalist, identifying key trends and the ability to recommend improvements.
  • Safety: Supports all safety programsand or committees, participates in trainings, servesas a safety advocate and member on one of the Bakery Leadership Team´s sub committees. Ensures each incident is properly investigated and reviews the KPI´s for accuracy as reported by the HR Generalist.
  • Administration: Manages exit interview process, Company vehicle program, Corporate reporting, Temporary contracts, pay issues/loans/advances/deductions, draftingcontracts/letters/formal documents, Disciplinary actions/follow-ups, and supporting onside audits. Maintains current local job descriptions as positions evolve with management regarding staffing and organizational needs.


Education and Work History:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required.
  • 5+ years progressive human resource experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Fluent in English with at least upper intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of local employment regulatory compliance with applicable experience in Labor Relations.
  • Demonstrated abilityto influence, coach and train cross-functionally/talent development
  • Proficient with Microsoft Officeapplications required.
  • Experience with online recruitment systems.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and excellent planning/organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levelsof the organization.
  • Ability to be resourceful, demonstrate business acumen,creative thinking skillsand be able to act as a decision maker.
  • Travel approximately 30%-50% expected.
