Silage harvest season is around the corner! Four years down the line, farmers are still recovering from the effect of covid-19 on the level of their production. Cost of production rose while market for the final products was not readily available. AVSI Foundation and E4Impact Entrepreneurship Center, Kenya, thanks to the support by Italian Agency for Development Cooperation - Nairobi Office distributed silage maize seeds at the onset of the rain season to small holder dairy farmers in March. The same farmers are now receiving silage bags and trainings on how to make silage thus minimizing fodder loses. Silage will help increase the potential yield of nutrients, decrease feed costs, lower harvest losses, and increase forage quality. This will in turn contribute to increased dairy production, income and eventual stability of families and communities. #PeopleForDevlopment #EconomicRecovery #Silage
