Meet the maker: Jaks Timber. Discover how reclaimed timber is transformed into design elements for 1hotel Melbourne at Seafarers. In a commitment to thoughtful urban renewal, we’ve collaborated with Jaks Timber to incorporate over 4,500m2 of reclaimed timber into 1 Hotel & Homes Melbourne. This includes more than 2km of timber beams from the heritage-listed Goods Shed No.5 and discarded railway sleepers from across Victoria. Each piece tells a story of sustainability and renewal. "A lot of the time you just don't see this timber anymore. The only way to see it is from a recycled resource.
