I had an opportunity to be on a webinar with Wouter Neef and Data Booster on data vs AI literacy. Check it out in the link provided below.
The reality is, we should be developing our skills in both areas, data literacy and AI literacy.
Data literacy, according to Qlik and it is the definition I used while working there and still use, is the ability to read, work with, analyze, and communicate with data.
AI literacy could be seen as similar. It is the ability to prompt, utilize, and execute upon using AI. Now, remember, AI isn't just generative AI, that is a space within AI.
What are you doing to develop your skills in these areas? First, what courses can you take? What books can you read?
If you are building out AI in your work, check out Sol Rashidi's book: "Your AI Survival Guide". You can also check out her Substack for overall learning.
What are you doing to prepare and utilize it in your role? One thing I want you to do is not only have a plan but please put structure around it. Don't go haphazardly about it and do something here or there. Buckle down, put in a structure, and go.
