The team at the AI Innovation Center rolled out another successful AI Meet-up, the seventh edition. 🙌 Dr. Devrim Eskiyerli was the guest speaker. She discussed the many ways AI can enhance sustainability and talked at length about the importance of using AI sustainably. Some key talking points: ✏ The integration of AI in creating sustainable business models, including dynamic business modelling and dynamic pricing 🌱 How AI can drive sustainable practices in areas such as energy transition through green AI and federated learning 🔧 The necessity of utilizing other tools where they suffice, to ensure we are not over-relying on AI. 🙏 Thanks to Dr. Eskiyerli and everyone who attended!   🙋♀️ Side note: Fontys Kenniscentrum Applied AI for Society wants to collaborate with organizations or individuals on research projects, idea sharing and, in general, forming a community on this specific topic. 📣 Happy news! Paul van Son announced at the AI Meet-up last week he is stepping down as Innovation Manager at High Tech Campus and taking on a new role as Head of Strategy. Paul has been at HTCE for more than seven years and was instrumental in opening the AI Innovation Center. For the past three years, he’s led efforts to build the applied AI ecosystem on Campus as well as welcome more than 20 AI companies at the AI Innovation Center. As Head of Strategy, Paul will further develop the strategy for long-term growth and initiatives as we head into the next 25 years of #openinnovation. Philipp Werle will take over the Innovation Manager position and will lead the AI Innovation Center and 3EALITY innovation hubs. With the construction at 3EALITY now complete, Philipp will work on building the spatial computing and immersive technologies community while continuing to expand the community at the AI Innovation Center. Once upon a time there was a camouflage container that sat between HTC 11 and HTC 25 on High Tech Campus. All the Campus residents were curious to know what kind of magic was happening inside. 🪄 ✨ This is the tale of the mysterious container and the secrets – and magic – it holds. 🔎 The HTCE marketing team visited Bart Fischer and José van Uden at the container earlier this spring to see what in the world is going on inside. What we saw is the culmination of 10 years of research by TNO, an independent R&D institution focusing on applied science, and international partners in an automated 3D food printing personal nutrition machine. 😋 🍴The mystery container is actually a mobile satellite kitchen owned by the Dutch Ministry of Defense, here on Campus for the first field lab of IMAGINE. Discover how robots are transforming our world and shaping the future in this exciting five-day event, from 17 to 21 July. 🚀 The goal of RoboCup is to accelerate the development of affordable and reliable robotics technology for the benefit of our aging society. After legendary editions in Nagoya, Sydney and Bangkok, it’s now time for Eindhoven to shine the spotlight on the latest developments in robotics. Organizers are expecting 2,500 participants from 40 countries who will compete in five leagues: RoboCupSoccer, RoboCupRescue, RoboCupHome, RoboCup Junior and RoboCupIndustrial. Congratulations to LUMO Labs on closing the €100 million LUMO Rise Fund! 🚀  High Tech Campus resident LUMO Labs, a venture builder and investment fund, will invest in 30-35 European startups focused on the development and application of emerging digital technologies for a greener and stronger society.
