We congratulate the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team for their pioneering efforts and for becoming the first fully hydrogen-powered boat to cross the North Sea! 🚢💙❤   The Hydro Motion project signifies a major leap towards a greener maritime industry. For 15 years, the team’s boats have successfully sailed on solar power, driving sustainable innovation and inspiring the maritime sector. In 2021, they built the world’s first flying hydrogen boat, and last year, they became World Champions at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge in the Open Sea Class. This year, the team 2024 bridged the gap between future technology and current norms by designing, building, and sailing an innovative foiling hydrogen-powered boat, showcasing hydrogen’s potential as a green fuel source for seaworthy vessels.   Our MEAN WELL DC-DC converters played a crucial role in this project. The DDR-480B-12 ensured the electric steering system ran smoothly, handling spikes of up to 40A. The DDR-60G-12 and RSD-60G-12 powered essential 12V components like the AIS, navigation unit, and VHF. Additionally, the DDR-15G and SD-15B converters powered the raspberry pies vital for the boat's operations.   We are proud to support the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team as they push the boundaries of sustainable maritime technology.
