To get a fair picture of each candidate, we often use tests for behavioural styles, capabilities and learning ability. We also look beyond a specific vacancy when assessing a candidate, as they might be a better fit for a different position. 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗻 | 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗭𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 At Cosun, we strongly believe in the importance of a diverse and inclusive work environment. In this series, we celebrate the richness of different cultures and countries within Cosun and recognise how this diversity translates into the workplace. Today: Ella Zhang, Financial Manager at Aviko in Shanghai, China. A born and raised Shanghainese, she continues to enjoy living in this vibrant city. She has been working at Aviko for the past six years. Ella explains that the work culture in China places a strong emphasis on teamwork, loyalty, and respect for authority. She highlights the supportive, family-like atmosphere. “It doesn’t matter if it’s late at night or during the weekend – if you have a problem, the team will provide assistance.” This warmth is also shown when visiting Chinese colleagues, and during shared lunches. “That’s always a highlight of the day, with most colleagues ordering all kinds of foods from local restaurants!” At Aviko, Ella works closely with her Dutch colleagues and acts as the link between the Chinese and Dutch teams. “We work closely together in a supportive way, and we all genuinely appreciate open and direct communication.” “In our differences, there are important lessons”, Ella shares. “I truly admire the commitment of our colleagues abroad to preparation and training. One valuable lesson that can be learned from our team is the importance of seeking help, even when their questions aren’t fully clear yet.” #PeopleofCosun #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion
