This year's annual event at VAKO Netherlands embraced a tropical theme, thanks to the wonderful weather and our special gifts! The team enjoyed freshly stone-baked pizzas, limoncello, and played outdoor games. The water guns provided a playful competition in the heat. 😉 As we wish everyone a great summer, we extend our gratitude to our entire team around the world for their hard work and dedication. Meet the faces behind the Vako Curtains: Travis Storch, Director of VAKO's US division. Have you ever wondered what happens when a rockstar swaps his guitar for window coverings? At Vako, we’re excited to introduce Travis Storch, who’s bringing his sales expertise to our American division!   A Rock 'n' Roll Beginning Imagine growing up surrounded by rock music rhythms and trade shows. That’s Travis' life in a nutshell. He was introduced to the window covering industry from a young age, thanks to his father. While other kids played during school vacations, Travis was off to international tradeshows in Shanghai, learning the ropes and making connections.   A Tech-Savvy Innovator But Travis didn’t stop there. He ventured into the music tech industry, creating disruptive technologies that changed how we enjoy music today. Remember the early days of Internet radio and Music streaming services. Even the thumbs-up button, was Travis's brainchild, long before Facebook popularized it. He worked with record labels and big artists, showing them how to engage with fans using the latest tech.   Back to the Roots The 2008 economic crash was a turning point. Tired of the LA hustle, Travis returned to Wisconsin, fully diving into the family business, Storch International. With nearly four decades of experience in fabrics, the company thrived under his watch. A chance meeting at a tradeshow in 2018 connected Travis with Vako, and the rest, as they say, is history.   Driving Vako US Forward Travis’s mission at Vako? To turn the U.S. division into a powerhouse. He’s not just about selling products; he’s about providing solutions. Whether it’s the right parts or valuable advice, Travis aims to make customers’ businesses more efficient and profitable. He’s playing the long game, building trust and alliances that keep clients coming back. Travis’s vision is clear: become the expert, and customers will rely on you.   Future in Tech Embracing trends like motorization but Travis is also predicting smart glass, and low-light solar panels will disrupt the industry very soon. He’s harnessing AI to streamline daily operations, taking his past in Tech to the future of Vako.    More Than a Businessman Did you know Travis has released 11 albums and toured the U.S. with major bands? He’s a true rockstar at heart, with a passion for music and tech. When he’s not working, you might find him fishing for charity, exploring new restaurants, or playing one of his 22 guitars.   Living by Principles Travis and peers describe him as loyal, selfless, and full of integrity.
