Last week, our VTTI Amsterdam terminal had the privilege of hosting award-winning filmmaker Digna Sinke and her crew. They were here to capture footage for a documentary hybrid focusing on the energy transition in the port area of Amsterdam. The film-documentary is made possible through a collaborative effort by Tomtit Film, SNG film and Nederlands Filmfonds. This visit highlights VTTI’s dedication to sustainability in the energy storage and energy infrastructure sector. Asset integrity manager, Dirk Jan Kwakkel, was interviewed at the film set on behalf of VTTI. He shared: “Being potentially featured in a film-documentary for the first time was both a privilege and an honor. Working with Digna Sinke and her team was incredibly exciting. I truly enjoyed every moment of the interview and the entire experience.” As the film moves into the editing phase, we are hopeful that our contributions will be featured, showcasing our commitment to a greener future. #energytransition #sustainability #VTTI #energyfortomorrow

This week, VTTI Bio-energy Tilburg received its first deliveries of feedstock. With the help of bacteria, heat, technology and automation, our team will turn organic residues into biogas, producing enough green gas to heat the equivalent of 3.000 homes in the Netherlands, produce electricity and heat for the process itself, and produce organic fertilizer pellets, every day. John Horrevorts, the General Manager of VTTI Bio-energy Tilburg said: “Following an extended period of preparation, I am pleased to announce that VTTI Bio-energy Tilburg has started the filling of the digesters and will shortly begin supplying the first batch of green gas to the Tilburg gas grid. This marks a significant step towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future!” #VTTI #Energytomovetomorrow #Tilburg

On June 14th, our ETA Amsterdam terminal celebrated a full year without any recordable incidents. A combination of teamwork and communication contributed to this fantastic achievement. The colleagues in Amsterdam were recognized by Jaap Koomen, SVP & Head of Country, and were treated to “gevulde koeken” or traditional Dutch almond cookies. “I am incredibly proud of my team and what we’ve achieved in a year. Safety is our first priority at all times. We couldn’t have reached this milestone without everyone’s commitment to continuously work on our safety standards,” said Jaap. Patrick Groenendijk, HSE Manager VTTI Netherlands said, “Since May 2023 we have been putting more focus and attention on safety by for example reinforcing the importance of the Life-Saving Rules and building in safety moments during meetings. These were some of the many important initiatives we put in place that really helped us drive our safety performance.” Patrick emphasized that good safety performance truly requires teamwork and proactive and consistent communication. Creating an environment where people aren’t afraid to ask questions or where feedback is provided to peers with respect, compassion and care, has had a positive impact on the safety performance in Amsterdam. At VTTI, care is at the heart of everything we do, and our Amsterdam terminal is a great example of how we live our values on a daily basis. #VTTI #Safety #VTTIAmsterdam

At Neste we are fully committed to supporting the aviation industry in their journey to reduce aviation emissions. Expanding the availability of sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) is key and we have some good news to share👇. We have now expanded our capability to supply sustainable aviation fuel to customers across Europe leveraging existing fuel supply infrastructure in cooperation with VTTI. This enables our customers to accelerate SAF usage at European airports and lays a strong foundation for fulfilling the requirements of the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation, mandating the supply of a minimum share of SAF to European airports from 2025 onwards. This milestone is part of Neste’s ongoing expansion of global SAF production and supply capabilities, which will increase our SAF production capability to 1.5 million tons in 2024.
