Income Tracking Associate

Downtown Music Publishing is looking for an Income Tracking Associate to join our global royalty team. Your focus will be on tracking the revenue or our administered assets and ensuring we are maximizing revenue for our songwriters from a wide variety of sources globally. You will report to the Senior Manager of Income Tracking based in the UK. Our team takes pride in accuracy and detail, but also in efficient collaboration with the other departments within Downtown’s Rights Management Operations.

This hybrid position can be located in either our London UK, or Amsterdam, NL office.

What you'll do:

  • Making claims with pay sources:
  • Research unpaid or underpaid works and submit claims to pay sources with a goal of collecting the income
  • Review payments for submitted claims on a regular basis
  • Liaise with Client Services to research, manage and close client queries
  • Audit selected clients’ work registrations at selected pay source databases and work closely with the Copyright team to have any incorrect/missing registrations amended
  • Undertake source specific analysis such as mechanical vs performance royalty payments
  • Maintain Pay Source Calendar
  • Maintain Tracking Revenue Report
  • Including team metrics and KPIs
  • Maintain streaming rate analysis sheet
  • Attend meetings with various pay sources
  • Acquire source statements (ad hoc) when required for analysis
  • Setlist submission to PROs
  • Support the Senior Manager of Income tracking in efforts to improve efficiencies within the tracking team
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needed

You are/You have:

  • 1-2 years of experience in royalties/fiance function, preferably in music publishing
  • Experience of dealing with internal and external partners
  • Experience with Counterpoint Music Maestro is a plus
  • A strong analytical mind and experience with Excel and MS Office suite
  • An understanding of copyright and intellectual property splits
  • Passion for music, numbers, and analyzing large data sets
  • Familiarity with PRO databases, such as ICE, Songview, MLC, SACEM, GEMA, etc a plus
  • Understanding of publishing royalty income flows
  • Familiarity with US pay sources (ASCAP, BMI, MLC) a plus
  • Familiarity with European PROs and CMOs a plus
  • Some familiarity with royalty statements and their various formats (CSV, CRD and others)
  • Resourceful, flexible, and exceptional teamwork skills
