As a healthcare manager, you can help shape the degree and magnitude of EI/empathy towards your patient populations. Help your team consider the prevalence and incidence rate of disease within those of lower socioeconomic status, minority backgrounds, or those unfortunate. Show them how to 'put yourself in their shoes'. This could be the perceived intimidation of a white provider with a minority patient, for example.
